What do you do when you get a new cell phone and ur old one has a cracked screen?

Yes, recycle it, but first, if you're on a plan like T-Mobile or Cingular, open the back, take out the battery and then remove the sim card. Before doing so, make sure all your information is saved to the sim card if possible. If you have a plan like Verizon, the information about your account and contacts is digital, so go to the store and ask for them to transfer information like your contact list for you.

If they asked for the old one back, you have to send it back in a prepaid envelope they will provide. If they DID ask for it back, you BETTER send it, if not they will ask full price of your new phone. If they DINT ask for anything back, then bud, you can do whatever you want with the old phone. Throw it away, keep it incase new one breaks, give it away. Whatever.

Recycle it. Google "cell phone recycling" and find a place near you to drop it off.

first i would have it activated.. some companies will backup your data.. like contacts and all that stuff so you wont have to retype all that stuff. also sometimes the store will take the phone, or you can recycle it if you were to activate it online. u can always keep the cracked one, but it might be better to recycle it.

If you are getting a replacement through insurance then you need to send or old phone back and just put your sims card into your replacement phone. That is how it has worked for me and I’m with AT&T.
