My ipod touch will not charge at all?

Myy ipod touch wont charge but my sister's will?

  • My 8gb ipod touch isnt charging. I connect it to the computer.. and the charge icon comes up then it leaves in like 10 seconds. I know it's not charging cause my battery is draining. My little sister has the same type of ipod but her's is charging. And im charging thenm both with the same wire and same laptop!!! What's wrong with mine?? what should i do

    there are a few things i would try 1. restart the computer 2. restart the ipod (hold the button on top for a few seconds and then turn it off. then hold it again for a second and turn it on) 3. put it into DFU mode. there are a couple videos on youtube describing how. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9BFanKzCKc 4. restore it to its factory settings... plug it into itunes and select ur ipod on the left hand side. then there should be a picture of the itouch, next to it is the firmware info n watnot. look down, and there will be a button saying "restore" do that i would do number 3 and 4 as a last resort... and if stilll no luck, looks like u gotta exchange it :/

Well are you charging it with the little cover on? Cuz I have an iPod shuffle and if u put the cover on it doesn't charge. And I remember once I charged it for very long but I couldn't listen to the music, try resetting your iPod and putting all the music in again. Maybe it'll work.

I'd take it back to the store and get a new one. Sounds like you have a short in the charger that is in the ipod, nothing you can do about it. Sorry

if you have that thing like insurance where you can get a new one if it doesnt work i forget what its called just use that
