Cheap way to fix my iPod Touch 4g screen?

Okay.huhh I am REALLY frustrated because my iPod touch does not work at the moment. It had a cracked screen and my dad ordered a screen from eBay and we replaced it ourselves. The problem is the lcd messed up because we pressed down so hard. We are shipping the iPod screen back and there gonna give us a refund or send us another screen. My dad thinks my iPod is distracting me from my school work. This makes me EXTremely mad and it is NOT distracting me. How can I convince my dad to pay 50 bucks to fix it if we have the part already or is there a place that can fix my iPod LESS than 75 dollars.....If its more dont bother putting an answer Thanks for you help and I hope my ipod is fixed soooonn.
