How long is the battery life on the new iPod touch?

How to charge your iPod touch the best way to preserve battery life? :/?

  • So I read on the back of the iPod case that the iPod has a limited number of charge cycles. And it will eventually need a new battery. I have done everything to stop draining the battery: turning it on airplane mode, turning off eq, location services, wifi, lowering the brightness and setting it to auto-brightness. I asked friends and they told me different things on how to charge the iPod. Some told me to charge it fully and drain it fully. Some told me to use it and charge it overnight. (but doesn't that weaken the battery?) Idk what to do. Can you tell me what the best way to charge is in order to prevent wearing out the battery too much? I have had it for about a month and a half.

  • Answer:

Don't worry about all that BS charge cycle stuff. Yes, no matter what you do, over time, the battery will slowly get weaker and weaker. After about a year there will be a minor difference. My first iPod Touch (I have an iPhone now) that I got in 2008 (HUGE amounts of wear and tear) works for about 10 minutes than will shut down and need to be charged. Use it as much as you desire, then charge overnight. That is the simplest way to always keep it charged.
