noooo youu dont have too i thought the same thing i googled it and you dont have to its just if you buy stuff on itunes you have the choice of paying method and credit card is one of them and if you jsut want to stick to itunes cards you can do that

I'm not sure if you have to enter it but I assure you it is safe. The credit card # is so that you can make purchases from the itunes store. Remember iTunes isn't expecting you to download free stuff online and they expect that you are buying everything from them. Once you finish installing iTunes plug in your ipod and you will go into a new screen on you iTunes that let's you give your ipod a "name" (optional) Then just download some songs and click sync. If you want to get fancy you can choose whether or not you want to sync it manually (clicking the sync button before adding new songs) or automatically (everytime you connect your ipod it syncs)
