How Do I Get Internet On My iPod Touch?

I need a real educated answer on how to get Internet on an Ipod Touch, before I buy one!?

• I do not know the ins and outs of operating one of the ipod touch devices, but my sister got one for Christmas, and I think it's the neatest thing. I DO KNOW that Safari, the internet browser, comes with it. I have heard everything from that you need to pay every month for internet, to that you automatically get it when you are in a wi-fi area. Sorry for all caps but, I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO MAKE THE INTERNET WORK ON IT ALL THE TIME. I ONLY HAVE A DESKTOP AND NOT A LAPTOP IF THAT HAS ANYTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH IT. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP, BECAUSE THESE ARE RIGHT NIFTY LIL GADGETS! ALSO: Is there any other way to download Itunes than to have to download it from another PC?   I am actually experiencing some problems getting on my wireless network with my ipod touch and I was just informed that I may need to take the security setting off of my network in order to get on with my ipod touch. As for being out and about with the ipod you should be able to connect ot any wifi network that is not protected by a security code. You should be able to download Itunes directly from the apple website to your computer...if your trying to download the library from another itunes I don't think that's possible.
