How do I fix my fried iPod?

How to fix my ipod touch 4g? (wont connect to itunes or my computer properly)?

• my initial problem is that i dont know my ipods password. and i want to restore it to bypass the password. however itunes doesnt recognize the ipod. when i plug in the ipod it says that the ipod''' cant be connected because anerror occured while reading the device. i figured i ould just jailbreak it tobypass the password but noone ake it simple enough and i cant figure out how to jailbreak it. :( next issue here is that my ipod is stupid obviously because it wont power off for more than 2 seconds. idk if that maybe a part of the issue. Then my ipod wont reset or anything. someone said to put it in DFU mode but idk whatthat is or how to do it. and im almost positive it wuldnt work anyways. the other thing is that my ipod wont do the connect to itunes cord and arrow picture thingy when u try to reset it. therefore (im guessing) itunes will not beable to reognize the device. alsooo i jus want to bypass the password. so if you can help me just do that i would be okay. and btw i dont know my ipods 4.3.4 or 5.0.1 or any of that jazz. all i know is that its a ipod touch 4g. and i need to bypass the password and getting it to be recgnized by itunes would be helpful. one last thing i tried going into my device manager and to the device to do something there but my computer say that my ipod is a usb and its jus not working..   Okay so there's a lot going on lol. First, hold in your power button on the top of the iPod and home button at the same time. Power + Home. Give it a few seconds and the iPod should turn off by itself. It may restart, or stay off. Either way, plug in your iPod to your computer and if your computer doesn't recognize your iPod then log in to your iTunes and check if it recognizes it then.
