How can I fix my iPod Nano blank white screen?

The screen on my ipod nano turned white, what can i do to fix it (without resetting it)?

• my IPod had been in my pocket all day and died a few times ( i was at school and nowhere to charge it without getting caught by the teacher). as soon as i got home i plugged it in to charge, the screen turned completely white! it still played music through the earphones, but i couldn't see anything. then it completely stopped doing anything with the screen still white. i hold down the play button (off/on button) but it wont turn off. what is the best thing to do without resetting it?

  well you can reboot it by holding down the menu button and the center button at the same time for a few seconds and nothing will happen to your content.
