How can i make my ipod touch load faster?

Hi everyone. I got an ipod touch 4g 32gb for christmas. Everything was running fine until today. i downloaded 4 new songs and usually the songs automatically sync to my ipod touch. Today it didn't sync automatically and my apps like hanging with friends, facebook messanger, etc, took too long to update. Normally right when i get onto hanging with friends, it looks for updates immediately but today it is taking longer to look for updates. can someone please help me out. thanks.

Did you jailbreak you ipod touch? Jailbroken ipod touches run a little slow.
