Why isn't my iPod touch connected to my computer?

IPod Touch not connected to my home computer?

  • I just downloaded the new 4.0 software on my iPod Touch. A while later, I plugged it into my computer, and my iPod is saying it's connected, but it's not showing up on the side-bar on iTunes. What should I do?

  • Answer:

    Restart your PC, reconnect Ipod, or restart Itunes. If none of those work, this is the extreme: Hold your home and power buttons ignoring the shutdown screen. When you hear your PC's hardware disconnected sound release power button but keep holding home. When you hear the hardware connected release home. If done right your Ipod should have the connect to itunes picture and should be unusable. At this point Itunes should detect an Ipod in recovery mode. Restroe The ipod from Itunes. That should be used as last resort because if Itunes still wont recognize it after your in recovery mode you are toast.
