iPod music?

Music wiped but still in ipod. Same itunes library on computer. Can I synch ipod without losing music?

  • Read closely--this is not the same problem as must on Yahoo Answers. All of my music was on an external harddrive. The harddrive malfunctioned---but my computer is still fine. My itunes still has listed all of my music (even though it's no longer accessible). But all the music is still on my ipod, as accurately reflected in my iTunes library. If I add new music to the iTunes library and sync my ipod, will I lose my ipod's music? Please note that my original iTunes library is still intact---meaning that the songs I lost are STILL listed in my iTunes. Can I still manage my music on the ipod (playlists, adding music to playlists, ect) even though the original music is gone?

  • Answer:

I would connect your ipod and set it to use as a hard disk and then copy all the music off of it first just in case.

I would connect it, and see what it says. I have had the same sort of problem with my computer and Itunes, and when I connected it, it said there was music on my ipod and if I wanted to put it from my ipod onto my library. So I would try doing that, and then see what happens but I can't not guarantee anything though.

itunes blocks this function since itunes is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you can utilize other tools to transfer your ipod songs back to computer. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

if it's an iphone or itouch you're screwed. cuz that won't work for me either lol. i'll have to redownload half those songs. but if it's a nano or something, you can use idump. the download and usage are both free to use. and i have 2 ipods for this specific reason. every song that's on my itouch is on my nano. so if something like my hard drive getting wiped out, or my pc gets a virus then i can just download idump onto my other pc and hook my nano up and not worry about losing anything.
