Why won't my apps open?

IPod touch apps wont open.?

  • I just bought an iPod about a week or so, and the apps wont open. This only happens after I turn my iPod off, and a couple days later they start to work again. This also only happens to the apps I download, like Safari still opens and the camera still opens, just not the apps I downloaded, like skpye or doodlejump or whatever. Whenever I click on an app it opens for a few seconds and then closes again. Ive tried everything, resetting it.. I dont know whats wrong. I havnt dropped it or anything. Is anyone else having this problem?

  • Answer:

As mentioned above, you may have to many apps open. Double tap the home buttom and a little menu should pop up, tap one and hold till they start 'jiggling', then tap them to close them. This is becuase if you leave apps open, they use up all the RAM. Also, make sure the apps you're using are compatible with your device and iOS version. This info is listed in the app info screen on iTunes. iOS is designed so that if an app isn't compatible, or it crashes or anything else, it closes it automatically.

Other answers

Double-click the home button; a tray of apps you have used should pop up at the bottom of the screen. Press the minus badge on all of them to "kill" them, and then try opening them again. That should do the job.
