How do I download songs from my computer to my ipod touch without itunes, using window media player?

Answer:
i hope you mean upload songs to your ipod from your computer using windows media player- if not then i don't understand your question... anyways. what i do is usually make a playlist of the songs i would like to add the device. when you connect your ipod-or other device your computer will automatically recognize it and find the best driver for it, when that is done you might be given the choice on what to do like viewing folder/driver where you will be putting your music. if not than it doesn't really matter. once you have selected the music you want to add- if you have WMP 11 you should have a tab at the top that says Sync (its beside the Burn tab) once you click on it you will be able to click on the playlist or add songs to the waiting list aka the "Sync List" on your left you should see some tabs with either + or - and it will say, Playlist, Library, and the name of the Driver/USB port/ your device. after you have the all the songs you want click "Start Sync" and you will be redirected to the Sync Results. Once done synchronizing you can unplug the USB- but if i'm right you can choose to Stop it in the lower right hand corner of the screen (of our monitor not the screen of Windows Media Player)- this is the safest way to 'unplug/stop' a device and if done otherwise can sometimes(maybe rarely) result in a malfunction in the corresponding device or computer but if its like my phone it won't have the option to simply stop so Best of Luck!! :]

I see these questions all the time. The above poster not only failed to read the responses to the exact same question, but didn;t even bother to explain the problem with iTunes. iTunes is a very simple and useful tool for organizing your music library and transferring music to your iPod - it's easily a big part of the reason for iPod's continuing success. If you have a problem with iTunes, you should search YA for questions raising similar issues. WMP does not, AFAIK, transfer media to other players (excepting those that use the MTP).
With just a few simple clicks, it will help you copy all songs/videos from iPod to your selected folder on your computer, and then you can also easily add those files back to iTunes. More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song names are preserved. What are you waiting for?
