Why won't my Ipod connect with Itunes?

  • I have recently bought a second - hand, first generation Ipod touch and when I try and connect it to itunes on my windows pc, it won't show up on the computer. The Ipod registers as 'connected' because the battery picture comes up on the screen, but there is no sign of it on the computer at all. What's more, it works on both of my mates' pcs which are running on the same operating system as mine (windows xp). How do I connect my ipod so I can get some of my music? please help =( x

There might be something wrong with iTunes itself. I had the same problem. It's likely that's what it is because it works on theirs but not yours. There's probably nothing wrong with the iPod itself. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling iTunes.

I had this problem my iphone and ipod would not connect with my computer was quite frustrating. what it turned out being was my motherboard i had an asus p557d chipset. they eventually game out with a bios upgrade. i downloaded and nstalled now works fine. so try updating your Bios.
