IPod touch 4th Gen 8gb questions?

What are the best apps for texting,calling,photos,videos,messaging,… games? And how much space does the apps take up?(like texting/calling ones) Me I like apps and such for an mp3 player but is the ZuneHD better than the iPod touch or is it the other way around? My birthday is coming up (Feb,15th) and I would like to know what one is worth getting. And if possible what's the difference so far (if anyone knows) about the iPod 5th Gen and 4th?

skype, trillain, it already plays mp3s and videos for text messaging you'd be better off with an iphone games theres too many to count. it has hd graphics
