My itunes homesharing isn't showing up on my computer?

My ipod nano isnt showing up on itunes, need help?

• its an old 1st gen. ipod nano. on ''my computer'' it shows up, but when i am on itunes, the little buton hasnt come up. i tried changing the usb ports, but it hasnt worked either. im using an iphone usb cord, and a lptop. i cant find any thing on the internet, so if this works i will award you with the best answer. plz u need help.
