Then heard to not back it up cuz it will loose everything. I do t back it up that much since it's so stupid and it takes forever!!! So can I disable the back up option thing. But how do I do that? Will it hurt my iPod? I already emailed apple so hopefully they will email me back. I have about 20 apps on it maybe less. And like 70 songs. I just want more songs on my iPod not apps. • Answer:

Set your iPod for manual management of music and video and give up syncing. I've owned iPods since 2006 and always use that to put music on my iPod - I never sync. Are there any songs that show up on your iPod but won;t be played by them? Try deleting those songs - iTunes may hang trying to sync with them. You might have better luck with your answers if you reposted this question, only now using a question title (that thing that people see before deciding to click on your question) that actually says what your question is - if you bothered to look at this forum you'd see that a number are posted by people needing some help with their iPod Touch, so saying "need help with my iPod Touch" is vague to meaningless. (Also, cut out the extra exclamation and question marks, and avoid Roger rabbit looking stretched words out like "pleeeeez" that make you sound too hysterical to accept a decent answer.) Try "iPod Touch freezes when I try to connect to iTunes". If you repost be sure to specify whether this iPod has been jailbroken.

um what gen is this? oh and btw im getting a ipod soon but i did a lot of research already so i think i can help you out. idk why it would freeze up on you. if you have a gen 1 or 2 then it might make sense because its old or if you had this ipod for a couple of years then that might be a reason for it being so slow. also if you have a lot of apps or data on it to backup it might take time to back it up. you should try to back it up once in a while because it keeps you updated and if you restore (meaning erase the ipod data) it will be helpful to get back the apps you had. im not sure about stopping the backup thing. wait actually i seen my sister plug her iphone into her computer (when she plugged it in the computer for the first time) and after syncing it, it would have a option saying like automatically sync pics and apps or something and you dont fill that in if you dont want to automatically sync your ipod data to your computer. you might not be able to get the newer version (5.0 or 5.0.1) because you dont have ipod touch gen 4. if you have a gen 1 or 2 i think the highest it would be is in the 4.0-4.9 or something like that be less than the 5.0 version software. oh and when you connect your ipod touch to the computer it would automatically sync but if you see where it says syncing in the top middle it has a small x to the top right of that box and click that. that should stop it from syncing. oh sorry i didnt see you saying you have a 4g ipod. well the highest firmware is 5.0.1 i think . if you dont know what version you are on right now go to settings general about i think. Oh and check the cable that you are plugging into . maybe the cable is just too old. to run your ipod more smoothly is would try to delete big apps that are more than 200 mb each. but you said you have like 20 apps so i think that wont make it faster. overall i think you should try to call up apple. it can be your ipod, the wire you are connecting, or even the computer itself or itunes (if you dont have the latest version) and i really suggest to actually call up apple. hope i helped

Just cancel backup/sync... And wait for your comp to load it, it takes awhile. Buy the CD on your comp then sync it to your ipod.
