iPod music?

My new iPod's music doesn't let me select on iTunes, please help?

  • Right, i got a new iPod nano chromatic (orange) today for christmas. I have previously had iPod's so i have iTunes on my computer. I hooked my iPod up to the computer and opened iTunes. Straight away the music from my iTunes library was being sent to my iPod,, and the bit on itunes along the left hand side (where it says: Music, Movies, TV Shows ect.) i clicked on my iPod bit and scrolled down to music and clicked on that. All the music was shown in a gray colour and i could not select any of the songs. I thought that this would go away after the songs had finished transfering from my library to my iPod but it didn't. When it's on my iPod's music bit, at the top it says iPod sync is complete. OK to disconnect- what does that mean?? ((I thought that it could have something to do with the fact that it is a new iPod but i have the old version of the iTunes so i downloaded iTunes 9.0... BUT it still continued being annoying )) Please help/tell me to get it so i can select songs on my iPod :) ...and Merry Christmas

    That's normal (and it scared me at first too XD) just instead of selecting, you check the songs in your library that you want on your iPod and uncheck the ones that you don't. Easy.

ok i dont really know what you are asking but i think this is it-- you want to choose which songs to put on your ipod right? not all of the ones on your itunes? so when you plug in your ipod, a screen should pop up that has all the information about it. like the amount used, the name of it, etc. you can click on a thing that says which songs you want and choose like only one playlist or all of them, etc. good luck!

same thing happend to me actually (exept with touch) and all you have to do is click on the little ipod icon when its plugged ina nd click on music and some how you can delete it all.
