Why won't my iPod charge from my PC?

My Ipod doesn't get recognised or charge, when I connect it to a PC?

  • My Ipod doesn't get recognised or charge, when I connect it to a PC . I use an ipod classic. When I use the car charger, my ipod is switched on, and it runs all the songs, in the ipod. When I unplug the car charger, the ipod is switched off. When I try the USB connector, the PC doesn't recognise, any ipod connected, neither is the IPOD Switched on. Please help me folks..!

  • Answer:

okay, idk what generation of an ipod u got, but i had an old mini, and when i got a new classic, i had a new charger cable, the plug that went into the ipod was shorter, and my old one would not work on my classic. also, try using a usb port in the back of the computer, some usb ports get blown out or dont have enough energy to run what they want them to. the ones in the back have the most power. hope this helps.
