Where To Buy Coloured Sand In Singapore?

Is it cheaper to buy Ipod Touch from Singapore than in India?

  • I am in India and have friends in Singapore. Will it be cheaper (in Indian Rupees) to buy Ipod Touch 4th Gen from Singapore than buying it in India itself ?? Price in India in 15K. Singapore price is S$ 328. What will be the final amount I need to spend in india rupees if I buy it from Singapore. Is it duty free?? Will my friends be able to bring it as it is with the box?? What ab the warranty for one year ?? Will i have warranty in india if i buy it from Singapore ?? Plzzz advise..

  • Answer:

My brother had bought a Samsung camera in Singapore before. And yes it is duty-free and cheaper but he bought it at Singapore International Airport, so you must confirm from your Singaporean friend if the place where they are going to buy it is duty-free or not (FYI, my brother live in Malaysia and yes, it is only duty free if it is bought in Singapore, not from outside). When convert to US Dollar, an Ipod Touch 4th Gen would cost US$333 in India and US$251 in Singapore. Estimated Weight of Ipod Touch= about 1 pound (equals to about 454g) Estimate shipping cost Singapore to India= SIN $29 (about US $22). Note: you should refer to SingPost link below for packaging details. Scroll down the webpage and look for 'Definition of Non-Standard Mail'. I think your friend might need to use box.. So, if you buy from Singapore, total cost estimated would be = US$251 + US$22 = US$273. This is if you use Worldwide Air Parcel (ordinary delivery service) but if you want the shipping to be faster, you may ask for other faster courier which is more costly. I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE WARRANTY..So, you better ask your friend to inquire about it from the seller him/herself. Based on my estimation and calculation (which is not 100% reliable but would give you rough estimation), I suggest you buy from Singapore. That is if your decision is only based on cost because I already told you I don't know about the warranty. BUT, remember to ask your Singaporean friend to buy it and send it to you. If you buy it yourself through online shopping, then the duty-free thing is not applicable.
