How long should i charge my ipod touch for?

PLEASE HELP!!! I don't know how long i should charge my ipod for does it make a sound or something when it is done??? COMMENT also i need it by tonight or tomorrow!!

Answer:
it doesn't make any sounds when it's done charging. what i do is charge it and check on it after an hour, all you do is click the home button and it will show if the battery on the screen is still charging. just leave it on there for an hour and a half.
