Can I rip audio from a video?

How Do I Rip The Audio Of A 3gpp Format Video?

  • i want to put some songs in my ipod from nocturnal depression but i cant download their songs just their videos and they come in 3gpp format as a video any idea how to rip the audio into an mp3

  • Answer:

It is easy, I recommend Video to iPod Converter which can convert almost all popular video and audio formats to iPod MP4 and MP3, such as convert AVI to iPod, MPEG to iPod, WMV to iPod, MOV to iPod, MP4 to iPod, RM to iPod, RMVB to iPod, DivX to iPod, ASF to iPod, VOB to iPod, 3GP to iPod. It can also extract audio from video then convert to iPod audio format. Hope it helps!

First you've gotta convert the .3gpp format to a useful format; .avi or .mpg being the most accessible. Here's a freeware program that *should* work (I've never used it but a quick google search yielded it as one of the top results): http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/free-3gp-video-converter.htm Download that, throw your .3gpp video into the program, and it should output as .avi or .mpg. From there, open up a video editing program (windows movie maker on PC, imovie on mac), drag-and-drop the clip into that program, and see if you can erase the video track and save the audio as an .mp3. This is a pretty simple process IF you have the right software for it. I can help you out if you send a file or two my way, if you can't figure it out. I've done this quite often from my phone's videos, as they all save in .3gpp2 format (near same thing). Cheers, Jason
