How do you reset the password on your iPod?

How to reset a lost password for a 60GB iPod. Black?

  • Two weeks ago I went to my local Swap Market A.K.A The Flea Market. hence this not making the iPod work on another computer. I saw an apple ipod that was black with 60GB. it was password protected. The guy said that i only had to plug it in to my computer and everything would be erased and it would be my own. Now I charged my iPod and i plugged it in my computer. Well my computer does not even appear to have read it.. It wont even appear on "my computer" along with all the drivers. People say push the center button and the top button on the ipod and it should reset.. But it only seems to just do a restart of the ipod.. And the same things happens.. All in all i want to know if there is a certain program that overcomes that problem.. MUCH HELP IS NEEDED

  • Answer:

okay. upgrade i tunes. this happened to mine. if you already have upgraded: then toggle the hold switch 3 times then hold the middle and menu(at the same time)button for 6 seconds. then the menu should come up. if it does then reset factory settings and plug into computer.

I don't think that you can do anything. But I would go to the forums on the apple website for "forgotten" passwords. ;]

You might need to call the Apple people. The number is on their website. It might need to be restored back to factory settings. Which all of the music will be lost! But thats an easy fix! Also, I had to call the Apple support line about a week ago, and I got a RUDE man with a very hard to understand accent. He blabbed off the instructions for me on how to fix my ipod, told me I needed to buy some software and when I said no to that he said, well do you have any more questions? I said no and he HUNG UP!!! Try technical support on Apple.com first. Then if all else fails, call them up! Good luck =]
