Why won't my ipod classic turn on?

Why wont my ipod turn on?

  • I have a first generation 16GB ipod touch. I have never used any sort of hack or jail break on my ipod. I decided to reset my iTunes manually on my computer by removing all the songs then re-importing them. When I connected it to my PC it started syncing but suddenly stopped and the screen turned white. I had assistance and the person who helped me restored the ipod, so when I plugged it in again it asked me to restore the ipod. I proceeded to do so and after awhile the icon on my itunes disappeared and it said it couldn't restore it for an unknown reason. I tried to force power it with a wall charger but it wouldn't even turn on. How do I fix my iPod now?

  • Answer:

Hold the home button & power button together at the same time and wait until it turns off. When it does, release the buttons and proceed to turn it back on again. This is known as a force restart.
