How to flush to disk without sync?

My ipod want sync it says the required disk cannot be found?

  This happens to my iPod Classic every now and then. There is a trick, but it requires a little work if you want to save your files (I use a Mac, so I don't know if my advice will apply for PC) First, DO NOT erase and restore your iPod. Just make sure you can see her in a Finder window. Second, find TINKERTOOL on line. Download it and open it up. In it's menu bar, make sure you're under FINDER and check the box for seeing invisible files. Relaunch the Finder. Next, go back to your Finder window and highlight your iPod. You will see transparent folders as well as the normal folders. Go to the IPOD_CONTROL folder, then the MUSIC folder. There are all your music & movie files. They are encoded for your iPod, so they're not labeled like their normal labels. They still work. Now, after you move them to your computer or HardDisk, you have to open them individually. You may have to relabel them, but they should open with their normal titles, singers and albums. There, saved! Last, after you've copied all your music files, erase and restore your iPod. It's probably a good idea (if you have a Mac), to use the Disk Utility and check your iPod for any corrupt files before erase & restoring. Good luck and I hope that helps.
