IPod skipping songs (and an entire CD!)?

I have an iPod nano (I believe its 3rd generation). I bought it in August 2008. Unfortunately, ever since I've had it, I've had problems where its skipped certain songs after 3-5 seconds. Sometimes, removing the song that putting it back on my iPod works. Sometimes, I have to make a new .mp3 file of it. For some reason though, my iPod refuses to play certain songs. No matter what I do, it won't skip the song. I've even tried ripping the song from iTunes, so its in their file format, but it still doesn't work! Even worse, I have a problem where it won't play a CD altogether. I've tried everything. Removing it from my iPod, then reloading it back on there... remaking the mp3 files... ripping it directly from iTunes. Nothing works! No matter what I do, it seems to HATE this particular CD. I've even tried restoring my iPod, but that doesn't help, either. So... if you have any other methods for me to try, please let me know! This problem is driving me crazy!

sometimes my ipod does that. I toggle the hold switch to enable it and then disable it, hold the centre and menu button together for a couple of seconds until the apple icon comes on. It resets the settings. If u already tried that and nothing seems to be happening why don't u try and take it back to apple or wherever u bought it from? I'm sure that there is a year warranty. try to take it back before the year is over. Maybe they can tell u what the problem is. Hope that u get it sorted out
