Should I Jailbreak my iPod touch?

About to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2G for 2.2.1 firmware. Should I jailbreak untethered or tethered?

  • Hello, I am getting ready to jailbreak my iPod Touch 2G for 2.2.1 firmware, and I need to know which one is better, the untethered or tethered. Please give great detail on them both and the difference. I know it has something to deal with how you reboot you iPod Touch. Now, why would I need to reboot my iPod Touch? Next, how do I reboot my iPod touch when it is untethered. I heard you hit the home button?? Please help.

  • Answer:

tethered means that there is something wrong. The untethered just means that you can reboot it and not have to plug it into the computer. The tethered means that if you reboot you can't turn it back on.

I don't know what the hell you asked up there. Just upgrade to the latest 3.0 software (go to below link to download it for FREE) and then use a software called as 'Redsn0w' (see youtube link for more details or gogle it). I have a jailbroken 3.0 and works flawlessly. Cydia (the thing you get after jailbreaking) will soon be upgraded to 3.0 so I recommend that you upgrade first and then JB as 2.x support will go after some time....
