Why wont my iPod Touch 2G charge on my usb port adapter for car?

• i have a iPod Touch 2G with firmware 2.2.1 and it is jail-broken. my friend bought the iPhone about a week ago and he told me he would sell me his brand new car charger. I bought it off of him and tried it in my car. it fully charged my touch without a problem. Yesterday i was in my car and i plugged in my ipod to charge it. i set the ipod down on my lap while i drove to work. When i got to work i forgot i put the ipod on my lap and got out of the car the ipod fell off my lap and i closed the door before i know what happened and it cut off the end of the wire. to make a long story short my car door cut the plug off of the charger. When i got home i got my ipod cable that came with the ipod and plugged it into the usb port built into the charger that i cut the plug off of. i plugged th ipod into the wire then the wire into the charger then the charger into the car and nothing happened. i tried a few other usb devices and they would charge off th usb port but not my ipod. please help me. my iPod battery only lasts 1 hour without a charge and i need my music i am open to any solution to fix this. i don't want to have to buy a new one if i don't have to. thanks

  Its because iPods have certain ports not similar to other devices able to be charged with USB. I recommend unfortunately either buying another charger or heading to some business place or even a mcdonalds and recharge from one of their plugs along a wall then leave.
