Does the SYNC have multimedia?

Just recently i can't sync my ipod touch for apps?

• i have the ipod touch 2g and in the past, i was able to sync my ipod with my computer with no problem. I manually manage my music, but i sync it so that i don't have to keep re-downloading my apps. Just recently, i tried to sync my ipod and it said, "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This is really annoying because i have apps that i have downloaded for free that now cost money and now i can't sync them onto my ipod. This message pops up every single time i hit sync. Also, i deleted iTunes fully, re-installed it, and for some odd reason, the sync worked once. But after that one sync, it stopped working again. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how to fix it?
