How can i update iPod touch to 3.0?

Ipod touch update for 1st generation, help please!?

  • Okay, So I bought an ipod touch from one of my friends. It is a 1st generation ipod along with the 1.1.5 update thats installed. Itunes is telling me there is no other further update for the ipod touch qwhen I click on the update bar. Okay, so heres the problem, the apps don't sync to the f@*king Ipod? What?! Okay, and get this, From what I've heard and seen, Apple advertises the new updates such as 2.0 and 3.0 for being able to use the apps. Okay, but where is it?? I can't find any link or any download on the itunes store even allowing me to download the update. Even though, from what I researched, their charging for it, which is ridiculous, I still am willing to pay for it, but how can I even pay for it if they won't even give me the option to? Their basically just telling me, Hey! buy a newer generation ipod that comes with the update, or saying hey! just go download the update for free on the internet. I really am against any sort of stealing, but what else am I supposed to do when they don't even give me the option to purchase their update. Please help me with this.

    they best i could say is refresh it try a differen cable or a different computer to see if u get an update..click the check for updates button thats all i culd think off. sorry :(

you can download the last update for the iPod touch 1g at www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware, select iPod touch 1g 3.1.3 update from the iPod Touch/iPhone/Apple TV list and download that, making sure to save it after downloading once you've downloaded that, plug your iPod in, open up iTunes and shift click on Restore in the iPod summary screen, navigate to your downloaded firmware and update it that way
