How to get itunes? need help?

  • i just go a $15 itunes gift card from my uncle and i dont have an ipod so ive never used itunes once, how do i get itunes on my comp? can i just donload it? and if i just download it will that automaticcally give me the itunes store so i can buy the music?

  • Answer:

    Temporarily disable your firewall then download it from Apple.com/iTunes/Download. Check the QuickTime box and choose Run in the user input boxes, not Save. Then just be patient. Depending on your connection speed, it could take upwards of a half hour to complete. During part of that time, there won't be anything on your screen but it isn't done until it tells you it is. When it's completed, re-enable your firewall and restart your computer. Once you have the software and have created a user account, you will have access to the store by clicking Store in the left sidebar. There's lots of useful information in iTunes Help, top left, and in iTunes Tutorials, at the bottom.

Go to apple.com and follow the links to iTunes. There will be an option to download it right there. Do not download from any other site. There may be a virus attached, it may be illegal, who knows!? Just download it from apple.com, a known and reliable site, and the maker of iTunes.
