yes if you screw it up, you put it into whats called DFU mode, then restore and try again. if you have a 1st gen touch, get quickpwn, its as simple as click, wait... done Google quickpwn 2.2.1 if you have the 2nd gen, you cant use quickpwn since it has to be done differently. (you can tell if you have the second ge, it has the volume buttons on the side and has a speaker built in) 2nd Gen: redsn0w beta: http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=170810 (your best bet.. easiest. it alters the firmware directly on the ipod. No need to restore) or check out Quickfreedom etc... http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139120 (look in the tools of the UNTETHERED section..you do not want tethered...) Now, heres what happens if something screws up... put your ipod into DFU mode. Plug your ipod into your pc... have itunes open - close any errors that pop up. Hold Power and Home buttons for 8-10 seconds (the screen will go black) when that happens let go of the power button but continue to hold the home button for about 7-8 seconds. Your pc will make the USB "dings" - itunes will think its in recovery mode. (just click ok) then click restore. (you can also hold shift + click restore if you want to pick a ipsw file to restore too) NO WORRIES.. you CANNOT "brick" the ipod touch unless you specifically go in and alter code that shouldnt be... and you have to know what you are doing to accomplish this. EDIT: Added - yes, this voids your warranty... but if you have issues, just restore before taking it to apple. Jailbreaking is completely reversible. I have gone back and forth a few times.... and remember... you CANT brick it this way

Hi, I would not recommend it. Even though it is getting safer and safer there are still dangers of destroying your iPod and of course losing the warranty. not worth the risk in my opinion, especially that the apps are not expensive.
