When i plug my iPod in iTunes freezes and doesn't recognize my iPod thefore i cant snc or restore it?

I think i accidently unplugged my iPod while it was synching,after i relaized it i checked my iPod and all of my songs and videos were not on there anymore. When i plug my iPod into my computer iTunes freezes and doesn't recognize my iPod. Since itunes freezes i can't sync or restore my iPod and all of my music and videos are not on my iPod anymore.Is there a problem with my iPod or with my iTunes.please somone help me!

Answer:
Reset your ipod by pressing menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears. It helps when you unplug ipod from computer first You may have to do this more than once No you won't lose any music
