What is wrong with my itunes???

What's wrong with iTunes and my iPod Touch?

  • I've never had problems with iTunes until now. Every time I connect my iPod Touch it syncs, but then my computer restarts. So then I tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I uninstalled it and when I tried to reinstall it my computer restarted. Now my computer restarts EVERY time I either connect my iPod or try reinstalling iTunes. And, as many of you know, I NEED iTunes to sync music into my iPod. So, what's wrong with it and what can I do to fix this? 10 points for best answer guaranteed! Oh and thank you, in advance.

I ve never had that happen before but it sounds like its the program itself. I t might be trying to read things but then it cant process it. I would delete the Itunes. Save your files first. Then readd the program.

did u try restoring your ipod

It sounds like a virus, maybe, after reinstalling that shouldn't keep happening. Run a virus scan, preform a registry scan. If you are still having problems, back up your files and install a fresh copy of windows. Or, get a Mac.

whatever the software that came with the ipod is corrupted because its a driver issue. also to start from scratch make sure all the drivers on the computer are up to date. especially the sm bus controller. some computers dont like the apple hardware but its rare Or go here it worked for me... http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430?viewlocale=en_US

sounds like some kind of driver issue to me, solution? delete the existing driver, how do you do that you might ask? tis easy, right click on the my computer icon and click manage in the drop down menu then on the left side click device manager, while your ipod is plugged in look for any exclamation marks next to any of the little icons, if there is one, delete the driver for it, that means there is a conflict of some sort, it will re-install it next time your re-connect your device, as for the ipod driver it should be under portable devices, delete it, re-connect your ipod and itll load the driver back up, good luck
