Just recently Installo.us went down and this made things a lot harder. With installo.us you searched for the game, download it, and play. Simple. But now, you have to download the .ipa files from mysterious file sharing websites, it's all very complicated, but I'm sure you would find much greater knowledge than that of mine by looking it up on youtube. My iPod touch guy atm is Dino Zambas. Youtube him, great guy, awesome tutorials. Good luck!

To be able to add free games, which are not on iTunes you will need to jailbreak your iPod and I would not recommend it. On iTunes, there are plenty of free games. simply go to iTunes, search for games (choose free), download them, connect your iPod and sync - the games will be put on your iPod.
