How can I fix my IPOD?

How can I fix this ipod problem?

  • I am really frustrated right now.. If someone could give me some legit advice, that would be fantastic. I was on hold for rwo hours yesterday with apple, and then my phone disconnected. Anyways... My ipod works. My itunes works. But i when i plug my ipod in my itunes freezes. I can't play the music in my ipod on my computer, i can't transfer new music, i can't edit my playlists. When i disconnect my ipod, the apple symbol shows up on it. I tried restarting my ipod, and then i finally decided to restore it. But it won't restore either.. it takes the time, but then all the same music is on it, and it is still having the same problem. What should i do? What is the problem? Is it a virus or something? I am just at a loss for this one..

Check and make sure your USB cable isn't a charge only cable I've had that happen before. And have you tried putting it in recovery mode before you plug it into your computer?

It might be your computer. Do you have problems with it other then iTunes?

Put you iPod into DFU mode and restore: Step One Open iTunes and connect the iPod to your PC Step Two Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. Step Three After exactly 10 seconds release the Sleep/Wake button. Continue holding the home button until you iTunes pops up a message telling you that it has detected an iPod in recovery mode NOTE***: It may take a few attempts to get your iPod into DFU mode. Generally, I hold down both buttons then release the Home button just before I think the Apple logo would appear. If you are still holding both buttons down and you see the Apple logo you are holding them down for too long! *edit* Disregard all that, That is for a touch not a classic.
