Why did my tv's sound stop working?

  • It was working perfectly fine the day before but suddenly its not working anymore. It's a Toshiba Regza HDTV, about 2-3 years old. I tried multiple sources into the tv and none of them worked, so the source isn't the problem. I tried plugging my tv's sound output into my sound system and still nothing. Why did it stop working? What can I do to fix it?

    Oliver is probably correct. The only other possibility is that you somehow turned down the TV volume instead of cable/Dish volume a few days ago, so no matter what you connect will have no volume. If TV volume is at zero, depending on your TV, raising the volume of anything attached to it will do nothing. Go to the TV and raise TV volume (not the volume of any other unit, just the actual volume on the TV. One other silly thing I've seen happen is that some one sat on the remote and activated the mute.

Is it not working for only the tv imput or all the imputs? if its just the tv imput try reconnecting it again if its all of them the im guessing your audio chip box thing is burned
