How to change settings from one at&t remote to another to work for a different TV?
-
I'm sorry, but I have no idea how to explain it. Here is the story: I had an old television in my room, which is an old symphonic brand. In the living room, we had an old Sanyo television. Each of them use a different remote. I used to play video games on BOTH TV's, but I had different ways of getting to them, as one way would not work on the television. For the symphonic, I changed channels to below one on the TV, and on the Sanyo, I hit the TV button and then input. My family bought a new TV for the living room, so we moved the Sanyo up into my room. After over an hour of trying multiple ways to get to the video game channel on the Sanyo with both my old remote, (which changes channels on the Sanyo and all that normal stuff,) and changing the TV channel to below one, (there was no video game channel on it,) I thought if I used the old remote in the living room, the one that used to be for the Sanyo, I could get to the video games, I could use it on the television which is now in my room. I was right, and it worked. However, I can not keep changing remotes whenever I want to get to TV and video games, because my parents use the TV in the living room with the remote that allows me to get to the video games on my Sanyo. I don't know how to explain it further, but, basically, I need to know a way to sync the remote in my room to the Sanyo, but I don't know how to word it on google. Can anybody help? If something is unclear, I will try to elaborate.

Answer:
i used to work for at&t's uverse for about 3 years, i know once their remotes are programmed for the tv, you can no longer control the tv channels (only cable channels) unless you have the remote set to manually change input modes (which most people don't do once theyre installed because its a pain in the *** to constantly switch between cable and tv modes to change the volume), if you have the original remote control for the tv, that is always the best way if you have to change the channel on the tv down to a certain channel. as for changing inputs, most uverse remotes should program the input selection button to work through the tv and change the input, but if you have problems with that, again the original remote control is always the best way of doing this.
