Hitachi tv problem - turns itself off then power light flashes continious blue/red?

My hitachi tv just turned itself off last night and then the power light just continuously flashed blue/red and nothing else would happen. I unplugged it and left it for a while, but still the same problem - help!

Answer:
Your lamp is dead in your TV. Call Hitachi to find out what a repair will cost. most likely it will cost the same as a new TV, best bet is to just buy a new one, and with an Extended warranty this time.

When electronics stop working in my house I like to smash them up with a hammer or a bat. Then I feel much better and I go buy new ones. Problem solved.
