How can I turn on an old AT power supply?

TV won't turn on, just a blinking power light... how can I fix it?

  • It's an Insignia NS-LCD32. It won't turn except for the little power light blinks when i hold down the power button, it used to come on if i held it down long enough, but it gradually took longer and longer, and now nothing, just the blinking. I heard it might be the power supply capacitors, or something else. I'm looking for something I can do on my own or if you think it might be a cheap fix that I could get down professionally.

  • Answer:

Power supply capacitors are the usual culprit but it can be another board causing the problem. It may be a cheap fix as the defective capacitors tend to look "fatter" than normal so are easily identified. Can't guarantee that though.
