About HD-Ready Tv question?

if i have a Hd-Ready tv, and a game console that is playing HD games ( xbox 360 ) and its a HD game.. will it be HD or must it be a HD TV ? what is a HD-ready tv .. its not hd.. its just Hd- Ready how to make it HD then ?

Magician is correct - for the United States. Some people (like me) live in an area where an antenna wont pick up any signals. So I bought an "HD-Ready" television which does not have a jack for an antenna. Instead I use a cable or sat box for TV shows. My xbox, BluRay player and HD Sat box all play in 1080 which is the highest resolution of HD video. If I ever move and want to try using an antenna for free TV signals, I must buy a "terrestial tuner" that takes a wire from the antenna, lets me choose a channel and outputs the result over a HDMI cable.

HD ready = 720p = 1280×720 pixels. Full HD = 1080p = 1920×1080 pixels you will need for your xbox a hdmi cable or the regular component cable which will have about 6 connections pins. there is a switch on the xbox cable itself which changes the cable to show either HD os SD(standard Definition) switch that to HD then when you turn your xbox on go to settings and picture and change it to 720p if your TV is hd ready or 1080P if its full HD. If you have a HDMI cable however it will automatically put your xbox in HD.

An HD-ready TV is an HDTV, but the tuner in it is not HD-capable, so you need a separate set-top box tuner to get actual HD signals. With a true HDTV, you could plug a digital antenna straight into it and get HD channels over the air. With an HD-Ready, you have to have a converter box.
