How do I view pictures from a disk?

Camera corrupts files on disk all the time?

  • So I have a Kodak easyshare and a 4gb sandisk. On the previous sandisk I always had corrupted files, such as when pictures were saved on top of one another and then you get parts of two pics in one file and then just gray boxes on my pictures. Also, a lot of files wouldn't show up: i'd take ten pictures and they'll only show up 3. and then some pictures just have a tag of (name).jp__ instead of .jpg and you can't view those files either. when you try it just says picture cannot be displayed...? so what do i do? is it the camera? or the disk? because i SWITCHED to another disk!! and it's still the same problem...so i dont think it's the disk. i do always remove the disk in order to download pics though but before i download them i view them while in the disk and it's already corrupted. so is it the camera's fault? do i have to buy another camera? thanks for your help...

  • Answer:

Don't save all your photos to the same folder with the same name, and don't reset the numbering. Your memory card is not malfunctioning at all. The .jp_ files are ones that have been renamed because your settings are such that you are trying to overwrite existing files. Name your folders after the date and you'll have no further problems.
