What program to use to make videos from canon rebel 2?

  • hey guys! so i have a canon camera, its rebel 2, and so wen i download the videos onto my computer, they arent wmv files. i used windows movie maker to make videos with my old camera, and the videos were wmv. but now wen i use windows movie maker and click import videos, the videos dont show because they arent wmv files. so what program can i use? one friend told me premier or something like that :S is there some website where i could buy the program from or any programs u guys reccomend, and how can i get them? pls!! thnx!! SOO MUCH!!!

    Yea im unsure of their intentions but they are made into mp4 format (apple) now. Any Sony video editing program will work, ive used Vegas Pro in the past which it works perfect, just a bit expensive. There is also the option of changing your format with a converter, so you can still use wmm.

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 for all of my video projects. It will import footage from my Canon T2i. The HDSLRs shoot video with an H.264 codec and the resulting file is an .mov, viewable in QuickTime. If you can't afford Premiere Pro, you can purchase Premiere Elements, which has a price tag of about $100 (although Adobe is offering a sale right now). You might also try the free software MPEG Streamclip which will allow you to convert video files from one format to another.
