Whats a defective camera?

Can someone please help me figure out whats wrong with my camera?

  • i have a Coolpix L18 Nikon Camera here is a picture of the exact one that i have http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/Nikon-CoolPix-L18-camera.jpg http://www.pma-show.com/news_images/00381_coolpix-l18.jpg A cousin of mines gave it to me so when i turn the camera on a picture of her family shows. i deleted the picture off the camera but when i turn the camera it still shows. i tryed connecting the camera to the computer but i still cant find a way to change it and i asked my cousin for the instuction book and stuff but she didnt have it. does anyone know what i can do to get the picture changed?

    If you can get into your camera's menus see if you can find the location of "format". When you get there follow the instructions to format your card. That should take care of it. But I agree, try to find a .pdf download manual on line.
