Which camera is the best of these?

Which is the Best and powerful rechargeable AA Battery for my Canon Camera?

  • Well, i have a canon digital camera and it is powered by AA batteries.. Ok many might think y i had to go for a Camera powered by AA battery. Ok Camera was bit compact and specifications wer good with 12MP and 12X optical zoom. And there was a positive for AA Batteries (i came to know b4 buying it) that they will be available in markets even after 50 more years and not unlike Lithium ion batteries, which does not get the availability (of specific models) even after some years (As the manufacturers stop producing batteries of outdated cameras after sometime).. But the Negative was, These AA Batteries (NiMH or NiCD) drain real fast when compared to Li-ion batteries. Ok since both wer having +ves and -ves, i decided to go with the Camera's specifications.. But Recently i heard that, there are some rechargeable AA batteries available in market which are more powerful and can last for longer duration. Currently, i have 4 AA Camelion Rechargeable batteries, 2 are NiMH 2100mAh 1.2V (NH-AA2100AR) and other 2 are NiCD 800 mAh 1.2V (MIGNON). Altogether they give around 140 to 160 HD photos and 3 to 5 HD videos. Thou i never noticed how many hours, i guess NiCD lasted for almost 2.5 to 3 hrs (30-40 photos ) and NiMH for (100-120 photos) almost 6 to 7hours (Obviously Not continuesly, its with the procedure of switch on-click-view-switch off each time). My camera runs with 2 batteries at a time. (think thats usual with any digi cam) So Please, any AA powered Camera freak, can u please tell/recommend me which brand of AA battery(like Camelion, Energizer, duracell) and which type w.r.t power (mAH) should i go for? I wud like to take atleast 300+ photos + atleast 5 to 8 Videos with those 2 batteries. I live in CHENNAI, INDIA (South Pacific).... And let me know only the batteries available here (becoz i know properties of some batteries change W.r.t. weather too, so i dont wanna import them). Any Recommendations? please help ! !

The best are vapextech batteries, their 2900 mah to be specific but it seems these are not sold in India. A good alternative would be some sanyos like this: http://cgi.ebay.in/SANYO-2700-ECO-CHARGER-2-X-AA-2700-mah-NiMH-BATTERY-/370505195234?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_203&hash=item5643d49ee2

Actually the brand doesn't matter because virtually all of them are exactly the same. They're all 1.5 volts at full charge. All of them have virtually the same mAp power as well. Buy a brand that comes with its own charger.

The Sanyo Eneloop AA batteries hold a charge well, not only in use, but also in storage. Most AA NiMH batteries lose charge in storage much faster that the proprietary lithium ion batteries. Sanyo recommends using its own charger for these, and it is a very slow charger. I don't know what the availability of these is for India.
