Whats a defective camera?

Whats wrong with my camera?? please answer urgent :(?

  • Basically yesterday i went out to take some pictures outside, and i know my camera needed charging cause it showed the battery symbol on the bottom. and it all of a sudden turned off & when that happens it means it needs charging so i tried to turn it back on but the Lense popped out (as usual if you turn on a digital camera) and it went back in. and when i came home i decided to charge my camera & when it was done charging it is still like this! and i don't know why :( i haven't dropped my camera recently or anything it only fell like twice & it would have happened before if it was because of the fall but it didn't effect anything. the type of camera i have is: kodak easyshare m 1060 heres a picture of what it looks like: http://www.camera-catalog.com/timgs/kodak_m1063_1.jpg i DON'T have a warranty on this :( And i don't have the money for another camera what do i do PLEASE HELP ME :'(

  • Answer:

If you can, try removing the battery for a couple of minutes and reinstalling it, this usually resets the camera. TOM

How long did you charge? Try overnight for maximum recharged power.

How old is your battery? Sometimes when a battery gets old, no matter how many times you try to charge it, or how long your charge it, it no longer accepts the charge. That would by my bet. If so, you can find cheap batteries (like 1/2 manufacturer, or places like Best Buy prices) online. Just Google "Cheap Batteries, and add your camera model number). Do some research though, because you may think you find a good price, and go down a few more links, and there is an even better price. And, since you are there, it is always good to get a second back-up batter! Otherwise, if it is not the battery, it is something mechanical. Go to a camera store that has digital cameras, they will be able to diagnose it, and it should be a no cost diagnosis! Hope this helps! PS... Don't drop it again! :)
