Flip Video Camera Space?

Digital Camera Memory Chip- Lots of Video Space. Please Help?

• I'm going to Australia in a couple weeks and I'm gonna need enough memory on my digital camera to take a crap load of videos. So if you can point me in the right direction on what size, brand, type, and price range to go to that would be incredibly helpful! Thanks so much Amanda

  Hi Amanda, If you are going on a long trip - which this sounds like - do not skimp on cheap memory cards. The cost of even a top-end card is nothing compared with another trip to Aus to re-shoot! Compatibility is an issue, the link below to ScanDisk shows which cards work with a huge variety of cameras. Be aware of fake branded cards on ebay. Always buy from a reputable source, as you can see the same card priced from $50 to $200 - so it is unlikely to be the same card. Essentially, you get what you pay for. I use SanDisk exclusively now, after having a bad experience with cheepies. Buy the biggest compatible cards you can afford and always take more, lower capacity and therefore lower cost per GB cards. Change cards frequently so you do not have all the trip on one card - in the unlikely event that it fails you have nothing. Format cards before use and back-up on a laptop if at all possible. You can also upload on the move to flickr, or one of the other free sharing sites, again as a safety measure. Big AV files may be a problem though - so take more cards!
