What is the best DSLR Camera for under $400?

  • I'm looking to buy a DSLR Camera but my budget is pretty minimal, $400 is even pushing it. I want a camera that obviously takes amazing quality photos along with different options and settings that I can play around with. I'm a beginner though so they don't have to be super fancy. I will kind of learn as I go with the camera. I did take a photography class in high school so I'm not completely ignorant on how to use a DSLR camera. I'm just not really sure where to start looking and what I'm actually looking for. The SONY DSC-HX100V looks awesome but again a little out of my price range. Any tips, camera recommendations, or anything is welcome. Oh and did I mention that I'm going to Italy in a couple months, so think of that when you're wondering what kind of photos I'll be taking haha Thanks so much!

    That Sony is not a DSLR. Unless you buy used, the cheapest DSLR is $500. Are you sure you know what a DSLR is?

At $400 the best you could get is secondhand.
