Which point and shoot camera takes good indoor pictures?

What is the difference between point and shoot and DSL camera's? Which takes the best pictures?

• How does DSL work when alot of the camera's I'm seeing dont have built in flashes? I love taking pictures and have dabbled in my mind about the thought of doing it professionally one day but have never looked into it till now. I'm just starting out and would like to get a good camera that will last as my knowledge grows. I have always used point and shoot and currently own a sony cybershot. Any info on all this would be apprfeciated. Thank you so much.

  The term is DSLR which stands for Digital Single Lens Reflex. There are a number of differences between DSLRs and point-n-shoot cameras. For starters, DSLRs have a much larger imaging sensor and feature interchangeable lenses. While most DSLRs have LCD panels, the primary system is the optical viewfinder that allows you to look through the lens used to take the picture. Larger imaging sensors are able to catch more light and more information which generally means DSLRs have better image quality. More importantly, because DSLRs have interchangeable lenses, one can use the best lens for the shot rather than being stuck with an all in one lens of a point-n-shoot. There was a time that people bought 35mm SLRs as a lifetime investment but, the electronic nature of DSLRs and digital cameras in general makes this concept obsolete.
