What lenses will fit an older canon film camera?

What lenses will fit an older canon film camera?

  • My boyfriends birthday is coming up and he recently bought an older canon film camera that allows you to change the lenses. I was wondering what types of lenses will fit his because I thought that all the lenses they have would fit old and new versions of their cameras but now I'm not so sure. I don't know the type off hand so its a little harder to even begin looking for something that would fit his camera.

  • Answer:

You have to be perfectly sure about this. Canon changed their film camera mounts a number of times. The most recent is the EF mount which is compatible with the newer dSLRs. Before that was the FD mount. Before that was something else. Take note of your boyfriend's camera's model and search in the internet on what mount it has. You can then make the right selection knowing that info.

Depends on what he bought. Some use FD lenses and some use EF lenses. And then there are older cameras than that. Here's a big hint for cheap lenses...www.shopgoodwill.com. You can pick up some old stuff there for pennies on the dollar.
